My entry into the "Automobiles" prompt on Reddit's sketchdaily.
I wanted to try designing a logo. Going along with this line art hype train that I've been riding lately, I wanted to connect the tires with the body of the car to give some illusion of sleekness. Making the tires large in comparison to the frame drops the center of gravity of the vehicle, as my imaginary race car would perform best when hugging the ground.
The door itself is angular to provide contrast from the shape of the car. Since the door is the access way for humans to interact with the car, it's a sort of subtle commentary on how, just maybe, humans weren't meant to travel in excess of hundreds of miles an hour.
Also, it is most definitely NOT Admiral Ackbar's head, or some phallic device. It's a race car. You know because it says so.
Of course, I couldn't resist playing up the palindromicity of "Race Car."
